What Is a WhatsApp AI Assistant? How It Works and What It Does
- A WhatsApp AI assistant is a helper inside your own WhatsApp. It reads your chats, finds what needs you, and reminds you before things slip.
- You link it the way you link WhatsApp Web: scan a QR code or type a code. There is no new app to install.
- It can write drafts for you, but it never sends a message to another person without your own yes.
- It helps founders, sales people, shop owners and families, anyone whose work and life run on WhatsApp.
- You can start in two minutes. In India it is ₹99 for a 7-day trial, then ₹599 a month, and you can stop any time.
What a WhatsApp AI assistant is
A WhatsApp AI assistant is a helper that works inside the WhatsApp you already use. You talk to it the way you talk to a friend, by text or by voice note, and it answers in the same chat.
The word 'assistant' matters. A chatbot only waits for your question. An assistant also pays attention. It notices that a customer asked for a price three days ago and you never replied. It remembers that you told your brother you would call him on Sunday. Then it tells you, at the right time.
Why does this matter? In India, WhatsApp is where the work happens. Customers ask for prices there. Suppliers confirm orders there. Your family plans a wedding there. The problem is not that too few messages come in. The problem is that the important ones sink under the rest, and you only remember them when it is too late.
Tuffy.pro is one such assistant. We call it Tuffy. It lives in the 'Message yourself' chat, the chat in your own WhatsApp that only you can see. It does not appear in anyone else's chat.
How it works: linking is like WhatsApp Web
Most people already know how to do this. If you have ever opened WhatsApp on a laptop, you have done the same thing.
Your number does not change, and you do not have to move anyone to a new number. If you ever want to stop, you can remove Tuffy from Linked devices in WhatsApp, like any other linked device.
- Sign up at Tuffy.pro and choose your plan.
- Open WhatsApp on your phone and go to Linked devices.
- Scan the QR code on the screen. If scanning is hard, type the code instead.
- Open your 'Message yourself' chat. Tuffy says hello there.
- Tell it what you need, in your own words and your own language.
What it does in a day
Here is an ordinary day with Tuffy. Rohan runs a small packaging business in Pune. All his customers, suppliers and staff are on WhatsApp.
1. Morning: the brief
Every morning Tuffy sends a short brief. It is on by default, and one word switches it off. It lists what needs you today and what you are waiting on.
2. Afternoon: find things fast
Chats move fast. Nobody scrolls through 400 messages to find one number. You ask, and Tuffy searches across your chats.
3. Evening: a voice note is enough
You do not have to type. Send a voice note in Hindi, Hinglish, English or another language. Tuffy understands it and answers in the language you write.
4. Always on: summaries and memory
A group with 300 unread messages can be turned into five lines. Tuffy also remembers facts you tell it: who someone is to you, a birthday, a date. You can see everything it remembers on the website, on the People and Memory pages, and change or delete any of it.
5. Your open work in one place
Behind all this, Tuffy reads your chats and finds what needs you. It looks for what you promised, who is waiting for your reply, and what others owe you. Then it keeps four simple lists, on WhatsApp and on the website:
- Needs you: things you must do or answer.
- Waiting on others: things people promised you, so you know whom to chase.
- Later: things you decided to leave for another day.
- Done: things that are finished, so you can see your progress.
Routines and bigger jobs
Some work repeats, and you should not have to ask for it every time. A routine is a job that Tuffy does on a schedule or when something happens.
Nothing starts until you turn it on. You can see every routine on the website, and you can pause or remove it whenever you like.
There are also bigger jobs that take a few days, which we call missions. For example: 'go through my chats from this month and list every order I still have to deliver'. Tuffy works through the steps and reports back to you.
- On a schedule: a Monday summary of the week, or a reminder to chase payments on the 1st of every month.
- When a message comes: for example, tell you at once when a certain customer writes.
- Follow-ups until someone replies: Tuffy keeps an eye on a chat and reminds you again if the other person stays silent.
What it never does: send without your yes
This is the most important rule. Tuffy does not send anything to another person on its own. When it writes a draft, it shows you the exact words and the name of the person. The message goes out only after you tap Send. For a simple message you can also reply with a thumbs up or type 'send', and the website has a Send button too.
Every message Tuffy has sent is listed on the website, together with the yes that allowed it. So you can always check.
This also tells you what Tuffy is not. It is not a bot that talks to your customers. It does not 'reply for you' in the background. Your contacts only see what you chose to send, and it goes out from your own number.
Who it helps
1. Founders
A founder's day is split across customers, investors, vendors and the team. Promises get made in voice notes and in the middle of group chats. Tuffy catches them, so nothing you said in a hurry is forgotten.
2. Sales people
Leads go quiet because the next step was not written down anywhere. Tuffy lists who is waiting on you and who owes you a reply, and it can remind you to follow up. Read more in How to Never Miss a Follow-Up on WhatsApp.
3. Shop and small business owners
Orders, payments, delivery questions and supplier calls all arrive in WhatsApp. Tuffy helps you remember the payment you were promised on Thursday and the customer who asked about stock last week.
4. Families
At home it holds the small things: a parent's medicine time, the electricity bill on the 5th, a cousin's birthday. See the ideas on the use cases page and in reminders in Hindi, Hinglish or English.
Is it safe with my chats?
Your chats are private, so this is a fair question. Each number has its own encrypted store. No person at Tuffy.pro reads your chats. The few outside companies that do a technical job for us are listed on the data page. You can tell Tuffy to ignore or block any chat, and it will stay away from it.
You can also download everything as one file, or delete your account. Your data is gone from live systems in 7 days and from backups in 30.
How to start in two minutes
That is all. Use it for a week, with real chats and real work. If it saves you from forgetting even one important reply, it has paid for itself.
- Go to Tuffy.pro and sign up.
- Start the 7-day trial for ₹99. After that it is ₹599 a month, and you can stop any time.
- Link your WhatsApp with the QR code or the code.
- Open 'Message yourself' and say hello. Ask 'what needs me today?'
